In 2006, G Shafer Architecture was involved in the renovation of the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Cockrell Butterfly Center. The project involved the transformation of the museum's outdated butterfly exhibit into a state-of-the-art tropical rainforest habitat that incorporated sustainable design elements.   The project team worked closely with the museum's team to create a design that not only improved the exhibit's educational and recreational value but also reduced its environmental impact. The result was an immersive and engaging experience for visitors while also being environmentally responsible.
